Drop-In Group Supervision
for Peer Supervisors

with Mentor/Coaches Lori & Keith

Supervision Group Format

The provision of excellent supervision is arguably the most important aspect of enhancing and sustaining your peer program, allowing for the most effective integration of Peer Recovery Professionals into your agency setting. Good supervision allows Peer Recovery Professionals to identify and grow their unique strengths, effectively address areas for improvement, and truly flourish in their professional lives. Research also suggests that it contributes to staff retention.

Occurring in a safe, supportive, nurturing and professional environment, this supervision group will utilize a structure that focuses on both an Administrative/Formative/Supportive model of supervision along with a series of professionally accepted Core Competencies for both Peer Recovery Professionals and Peer Supervisors.

The Supervision Group agenda is established by the participants. The focus of Supervision can be Theme Centered (general skill development for all participants), Case-Centered (exploration of specific Supervisor - Peer Professional interactions) or Work Centered (highlighting relevant issues related to your work environment). The Group decides on the format for each session.

Participation in this collaborative and collegial Supervision Group will support you in:

Enhancing your general supervision skills that enrich your professional development.

Adding effective and Evidence Based tools to your supervision toolbox.

Strengthening your professional and personal boundaries.

Augmenting your ability to support the professional growth of your Recovery Peer Staff.
