Recovery Coach Training for Youth Peers and Family Peers
Project Sponsor: OASAS and RFMH ( Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene)
Recovery Coach Training in Rochester, with a focus on family members and youth who have an interest in working toward becoming Youth Peers* or Family Peers* to help address the growing Substance Use Disorder crisis in NYS.
Youth and Family Peer Supports are needed to help young people and/or family members who are affected by substance use disorder access treatment and recovery supports.
Training candidates will agree to complete 100% of the 6-day, 46 Hr training with the intent of achieving their CRPA Certification (Certified Recovery Peer Advocate) and working in some capacity in their community to apply their lived experience and training toward helping others.
* "Peers" refers to youth (age 18-30) with lived experience in recovery from substance use disorder or family members with lived experience in recovry from the affects of the substance use disorder of a loved one.
