ASAP-NYCB Training Hours Requirement for CRPA: 50 Hours *
All workshops are delivered virtually.

The trainers were absolutely amazing. They are both obviously born to do their job. Seeing them in action coaching our real peers in real life situations gave me a lot of insight. I learned an incredible amount in this training and enjoyed every part

Attend these three required foundational trainings for Initial CRPA Certification 50 Hours:

*All RCU Trainings are ASAP-NYCB approved for CRPA & CARC Certification.
Additionally, the Electives may be used for CRPA/CARC Renewal CE’s; OASAS Approved for CASAC, CPP, CPS Renewal CE’s; and ASAP NYS Social Work CE’s.

I believe this is a training the world needs to take. Especially in these times of chaos and the unknown, I think really learning to listen, be empathetic and just acknowledge that others are human, is so needed.
Lori and Keith were two genuine people who couldn’t have done a better job delivering this training.
— Carla Alomar, Peer Specialist; Zoom Training November 2020

About CRPA:
Individuals seeking CRPA Certification are interested in Peer employment opportunities in NYS Treatment Centers including Outpatient and Inpatient Clinics, Stabilization, Residential and Sober Living Facilities and Recovery Centers. These addiction treatment and recovery centers require the CRPA Credential so that they may bill Medicaid for their Peer Support Services. Many CRPA’s are adding the CARC credential to their toolboxes for added credibility and career advancement. They do this by applying the same ‘foundational’ 50 hours and supplementing them with 10 additional ‘CARC Elective’ credit hours to meet the 60 Hr. Requirement.

The ‘Initial’ 50 Hr. Training Requirement for CRPA Certification can be obtained by attending the three courses above and then fulfilling the CRPA application requirements including acquiring 500 hours in a peer role apprenticeship or supervised employment, presenting proof of a high school degree, and successful completion of the IC&RC Peer Recovery Exam. For details, applications and requirements always check with the NYS Certification Board (NYCB) as they are the experts and authorities on all NYS Peer/ Recovery Coach Certifications!

These RCU Zoom/Virtual Trainings are approved by ASAP-NYCB for both CRPA and CARC Initial Certifications. They are also approved by OASAS for CASAC, CPP and CPS Renewal Hours. And, all RCU workshops are approved by ASAP NYS for Social Work CEs.

CRPA Renewal: every three years

I am both inspired and grateful for the coaches we had and this experience. It was life changing for me. I thought I wanted to be a recovery coach before I took this course. And now I know I NEED to be.
