30 Hr. Recovery Coach Academy Training:  2018

by CCAR; Facilitated by Lori Drescher & Keith Greer

"This has been a great training which I enjoyed and learned from each day. You and Keith make a marvelous team of teachers. I shall look forward to taking more trainings from you. And having the trainings at ArtisanWorks was the "bomb"!"
                                                          - Liz R, School Counselor

CCAR's Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) is a 4 day (30 hour) NYS OASAS approved certificate course, considered to be the gold standard for Recovery Coaching and Peer Support. This workshop offers an innovative approach to helping people heal from the devastating effects of addiction, whether they are currently seeking recovery, in early recovery, or looking to deepen and sustain their recovery. If you are considering a career as a recovery coach or peer advocate, or you simply want to learn more effective methods for supporting people through their recovery process, this workshop will enlighten and inspire you. Peer recovery coaches can play a vital role in the addiction treatment and aftercare continuum of care and many more coaches are needed to support the growing gap in community based recovery resources.

“People don't recover in treatment (though this is often where recovery is initiated); they recover in their communities.
Become a recovery warrior and help end the stigma of addiction
and shine the light on recovery!
People DO recover!  Be part of the solution!”

To learn more about the exciting career opportunities and application requirements for the CRPA (Certified Recovery Peer Advocate) and CARC (Certified Addiction Recovery Coach) NYS Certifications, visit: New York Certification Board website. NYS Medicaid now reimburses treatment and recovery agencies for Peer Recovery Services (CRPA), evidence that the practice & role of the Recovery Peer Advocate/Coach is valued and effective in supporting a person's sustainable recovery. This field is growing and evolving rapidly! Scholarships now available for this training and certification fees!
