Course Description:
Maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the Recovery Coach and Peer Advocate professions is a key priority of NYCB (New York Certification Board) and OASAS (Office of Addiction Services and Supports).

As the profession evolves, those supporting others in their recovery must follow a set of professional standards and principles. This workshop presents a comprehensive introduction to the ethical considerations for Recovery Coaches/peer advocates and satisfies the Ethics Competency requirements for CRPA and CARC Certifications.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand what ethics are and why ethics are so important when performing Recovery Coach services

  • Learn how to stay in your lane as a Recovery Coach

  • Understand the decision-making process

  • Develop guidelines for making ethical decisions

  • Practice and apply the new learning to your everyday work as a Recovery Coach

This training was great, you’ll learn all about ethics and how to use it in the workplace. Ive worked in recovery all over the country and that was by far the best and most fun ethics training ive ever taken mostly thanks to Amanda and Erin.

The trainers presented the complex field of ethics as it relates to recovery coaching in an engaging and exploratory way. Before taking the training, I did not realize just how nuanced balancing ethical considerations can be.
