6 Hr. LGBTQ+ Inclusive Coaching

This *NEW* RCU training program exposes participants to best practices when working with LGBTQ+ clients, and challenges participants to explore their personal and professional biases in a safe environment. While many providers state they are “LGBTQ+ affirming” (validating clients' experiences and holding space for them to explore the complexities of these social identities),” studies show that many LGBTQ+ individuals face adverse experiences when seeking healthcare. Systemic discrimination puts LGBTQ+ people at a heightened risk of experiencing mental health challenges, with rates of depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders two to three times higher than their non-LGBTQ+ peers. Most vulnerable are LGBTQ+ youth, for whom the leading cause of death is suicide.

It takes no compromise to give people their rights… it takes no money to respect the individual. It takes no political deal to give people freedom. It takes no survey to remove repression.
